We are working hard everyday to promote and encourage good leadership skills! We started choosing a "secret leader" each morning. I draw a name out of the Bengal Pride bucket. I keep the name a secret during the day. I remind students that I am watching to see if my "secret leader" is doing a good job. I am looking for things like:
following directions the first time
good listening
helping others
taking turns
working hard
showing kindness
staying focused
not blurting out/interrupting
At the end of the day if the secret leader did a good job I announce who it is. The next day he/she will be able to choose a friend to play a brain game with. If the secret leader had a hard day and didn't quite show good leadership qualities, I tell the class that the secret leader didn't quite make it today and that we'll try again tomorrow!
Hopefully it is helping to promote good, positive leadership skills in the classroom!

Great idea!
