"Interrupting Chicken"

There are so many times that everyone has such great thoughts and ideas that it's hard to hold them all inside or wait for a turn to speak!  There are many ways that I try and give everyone a chance to actively participate:

We do "blow and release."  Ask your child how this works!
We turn and talk/partner share.
We use hand signals, like thumbs up/thumbs down, sign language, showing numbers on our fingers, etc.
We also take notes in our "college" note taking notebooks.

We are working very hard at not being an "interrupting chicken!"  This means we don't blurt out and interrupt the person who is talking, even if we have something we really want to say!

Here is the book we are modeling this idea after.  Ask your child to retell the story to you! See if your child can show you the sign language sign for "interrupting chicken."
