Math Today

In today's math lesson we practiced taking apart numbers to help us add. We looked for ways to make a number in the "100's." 

For example: 99 + 493  

Add 1 to 99 to equal 100.
Subtract the 1 that you added to 99 from 493 to equal 492.
99 + 1 = 100
100 + 492 = 592

After our regular lesson we had a few extra minutes to play "Tenzi."

Weather Reports

Today we worked on our rough drafts of out weather reports. We will edit them and do a final good copy. After that we will make our "weather reporters" as part of the final product! 

Character Parade & Reading Party!

This morning was our character parade! 

It was fun to see who people dressed up as!

After the parade we had our special assembly! Our school reached our goal of reading one million minutes!

So Mrs. Bidne read, The Book With No Pictures!

She also had her hair spray painted different colors!

We also found out that second grade read the most minutes out of all the grade levels! Yay for doing a super job and being awesome readers!

We ended the day with our reading party. I am so proud of these kids and how much they love to read! 

Favorite Book Characters

This morning we created our favorite book characters to put on our crowns! Everyone did a great job of replicating their character! They turned out awesome! We are excited for the character parade tomorrow!
