Animal Research

Next week we will be starting a big weather research project with Ms. Zbacnik. So this week we are practicing taking notes and writing main idea paragraphs using animal books. We are working on taking notes and putting things int our own words/not copying directly from the book. Everyone did a great job! Ask your child what facts they are learning about their animal!

This afternoon we also switched for science. Our class went to Mrs. Kath's class. Ask your child what they did and learned with her!

Mobile 2

Today we did one more experiment with the mobiles. This time the students had the challenge of having one side be heavier than the other side.  They had to figure out how to balance it when they didn't have an equal counterweight.  Ask your child what had to be done in order for the mobile to balance!

Maker Space

Today we did Maker Space in library again! Everyone did a great job working together creating, building and making things!

Mobiles

Today in science we made mobiles! We learned how it's important that the balance point is in the middle. Ask your child what he/she needed to do in order to have the mobile balance! (The weights need to be equal distance from the balance point.) Everyone did a great job working on this! Next week we will do a second experiment with the mobiles that is a little more challenging!

Triangle and Arch

Today we did another experiment around balance. We worked with objects to find out what makes an object stable or not stable. See if your child can tell you about the balance point and where the counterweights need to be.
