Research

Today we did research on explorers for our symbol book.  We used the website, PebbleGo to get our information.  The kids followed along on their iPad with a partner while I did it on the SMART board.

First we looked at different explorers from the United States.  Each partner group looked at an explorer.  They read about their early life, contributions, etc. 

Next we took notes in our special note taking notebooks.  We have been practicing taking notes in guided reading, so this was a great parallel activity!  We have been focusing on determining the important information.  We make bullet points with words or shorter phrases.  Finally we cited our resource at the end.

Finally we will write about our research in our Symbol Book.


Today we read another parody on Good Night Moon called Good Night iPad.  It was another fun book!
