The vote was for what snack we will have next week after the students make their turkey hats.
So first, each student picked a colored card. That card represented what "state" they would be in.
Next they found the other kids who were in their "state." Some states had more people than others, just like in the real world.
Then the representatives came out to the hallway to learn about the two different choices.
Then the representatives went back to their state and explained/talked about the two choices. The states then had to decide what they were going to vote for.
Once each state came to a consensus, the representative filled out the ballot. *The tally mark on the side represents how many electoral votes their state got.
Finally the results were tallied up! The winner was fruit snacks!
