Today we wrote in our "Important Landmarks, Symbols and People of the United States" books. We have been doing research on the Constitution and Flag Day.
Today in math we learned a new game called "Addition Top-It!" There are two different ways that we played the game. See if your child can tell you how to play the game!
*This game can also be played with a regular deck of cards. You just need cards from 1-9. One version is to divide the deck of cards in half between the two players. Each player turns their top card over at the same time. The person who adds up the two numbers first takes both of the cards. (Speed and accuracy are the objectives.) The second version is to divide the deck of cards in half between the two players. Each player turns over two of their cards. Each player adds up his/her cards. The person with the largest sum takes all four cards. Speed is not a factor in this game, but can be to make it more challenging.
