"Good Night Goon"

We have been reading Good Night Moon a couple of times to really get the story in our heads.

Today we ready Good Night Goon, which is a parody of Good Night Moon. We talked about how a parody is usually a funny version of a familiar book or story. The important thing is that it copies the same style or pattern of the original book/author.

After I read Good Night Goon one time through. I held up each book simultaneously so that they could see how the pattern and style matched in each book. They enjoyed seeing the similar story structure! 

We also read two more parody versions. 

Ask your child to tell you about them and how they are similar to the original story!
