Small Moment Stories

Today we started talking about and working on small moment stories. These stories are based on one small moment from a certain time. We read the book, A Weekend With Wendell by Kevin Henkes. Ask your child to retell it to you! We used that story as a jumping off point to write our own small moment stories about the weekend. I modeled a story about how I had lunch on Saturday with two friends. The idea is not to write about everything you did over the weekend, but to pick one thing and grow it into a good story with lots of details! We will continue writing small moment stories throughout the year!
