Literacy Today!

This is a typical literacy routine for us: We gather together on the carpet. First we start with our grammar packets. We work through things like fixing up sentences, naming nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc. Next we take out our note taking notebooks. We are practicing taking good notes. We go through the literacy lesson and I direct students on important things to write down. This week we are looking at -are, -ire and -ore words. We also talked about the vocabulary word, reside.

Then we read a great book by Jon Klassen, I Want My Hat Back. Previously we read, This Is Not My Hat. We are working on making good inferences. See if your child can tell you about these two stories and the inferences that we made!
