Scientific Observers

This week in writing we are getting ready for a new writing project! We will be doing an experiment and making observations and writing about it! Today we practiced being good observers. We started out by thinking back to books that we had read about Jane Goodall. Me. . . Jane and The Watcher. Both books illustrate how Jane was a keen observer as she studied the chimpanzees. We talked about how scientists need to be good observers and really study and focus on their subject. Each group of students got a different object. It was their job to observe it together and write down different features or things about it. They also needed to decide as a group what they thought was the most important thing about their object. They all did a great job making good observations!
