Visualizing a Story

Today we did a visualizing activity.  I showed 6 different pictures to the kids.  They sketched a quick picture of each one onto their sheet.

Next they had to write down an memory or connection that they had to any of the words.

Then they wrote down words that they pictures reminded them of.
After that they wrote a quick story about what they thought the story would be about.  They did such a good job coming up with stories that made sense based on the pictures/clues, logic, knowing that stories need a plot, etc.!

Finally I read the story to them.  Queen of the Falls by Chris Van Allsburg.  A great story based on true events!  Ask you child what they story was about and what they thought the story would be about!
