iPads

Today we worked on the iPads in guided reading.  This week we talked about non-fiction features that help us read non-fiction well.  We looked at things like the glossary, index, table of contents, etc.  Our goal is to know how to read any kind of non-fiction well.

This morning we talked about how important it is to read things on the internet carefully.  We can't assume that everything on the internet is true.  We talked about how it is important to check at least several different websites to see if the information is the same.  We also talked about how there are some websites that are more credible than others.  Today we looked at Time for Kids for a little bit.  Finally we talked about the importance of always having an adult's permission and supervision when usingi the internet.

We ended the time doing a few different literacy app games.

Finally today was fancy lunch day in the lunchroom.  Brimhall reached the goal of reading 1.5 million minutes during the month of February!  Ask your child about fancy lunch!

Have a great weekend!
