Author Visit: Mo O'Hara

Today we had a special guest visitor! Mo O'Hara came to visit our school. She is the author of the series, My Big Fat Zombie Goldfish.

She told us the story of how she got the idea for her books. When she was younger, she and her brother went to a fair. They won a goldfish by throwing a ping pong ball into a bowl! They brought the goldfish home and it lived in their living room for about a year. One day they came home from school and the goldfish was belly up! So Mo and her brother decided to try and revive it! They used a battery from an alarm clock. It worked! Their goldfish lived for another year!

See if your child can tell you about the right technique to revive a fish!

Mo O'Hara said that one of the best questions a writer or author can ask if, "What if. . . ?"

Finally she chose a few participants to help do a little acting up front!

What a great visit!
